Bullets Allstars has raised the bar in competitive cheerleading in Melbourne and Australia by setting the standard for excellence in our sport. Our competitive teams train a minimum of 4 hours per week, made up of two 1.5 hour squad sessions and one 1 hour tumbling session. Within the squad training sessions, students work on the routine they will compete with at each competition. Within each tumbling training session, they all work on the skills needed to progress to the next level of tumbling.
For the younger kids, we offer mini classes for children under 7 years to introduce them to all facets of cheerleading, such as dance, stunting and tumbling. The classes include fun warm-ups with conditioning and learning the basic moves for cheerleading. Once ready, our Mini Cheers move into our combined stunt and tumble classes.
Recreational – (Age 7 & under)
Competitive - Mini Level 1 (PISTOLS)
In the recreational classes, students are allowed to work at their own pace to acquire the skills needed to move up a level. Within the recreational classes, we work on all the fundamentals of being a cheerleader which include:
Forward and backward rolls, splits, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, back bend kick over, front walk over and an introduction to a back flip.
The popular jumps to learn are: tucks, spread eagles or stars, double hooks, toe touches, side hurdlers, front hurdlers, double nines, pikes and hurkies.
Involves forming a group of 4-5 team members. The group consists of the flyer, bases, back and front spotter. Our coaches’ primary focus in stunting is the safety of the team.
An important part of cheerleading, conditioning is designed to improve strength, aerobic fitness and flexibility to perform all that is required. Conditioning is built into all classes and age groups.
